practice was originally published in a special edition of the journal In the Grove, dedicated to the memory of Fresno poet Andrés Montoya.



Mónica Teresa Ortiz is a poet born and raised in the Texas Panhandle and is the Poetry Editor for Raspa Magazine, a Queer Latinx literary and arts journal. She was a co-editor for pariahs, an anthology from SFA Press and her first book, Muted Blood, will be published by Black Radish Books.
